SPAM Madness Rewarded in Google SERPs?

web-of-links

I am always surprised whem I come across paid Search Engine Optimizers (in-house or out-house, heh), that are missing so much information. These people claim to be experts.

A post on Google groups, Google Webmaster Help, titled: “Sub-domain Link farm, SPAM madness Rewarded in Google SERPs” left me baffled until I read it twice and visited the accused “spammer” site.

Gracks: “Our team has been doing very hard ethical SEO work along with PPC
management for a client for almost two years now. And lately when
looking at the “data recovery” industry we have been getting a bit
peeved wondering just how or why in the world Google constantly allows
the spammers to win for such $$$$ VERY EXPENSIVE $$$$ keywords (is this
part of their profit driven model?)”

Boo hoo hoo! I want my mommy! *sniff*

Team?

They have “a team” of SEO experts working on SEO for a client in a very high paying niche and “the team” can not figure it out?

In their frustration, they just resolve to accusing Google of greediness, and accusing their competitor of cheating; violating Google’s TOS and Guidelines. How shallow.

Gracks: “For example: If you do a keyword search for “Data Recovery” a
phrase that my client spends thousands on monthly and with a cost
upwards of $12 - $17 per click, you will see that the top ranking
websites, www.r-tt.com and www.bitmart.net both have huge sub-domains
link farms supporting their rankings (see bellow).

I checked. I was expecting something different, but all I see is a link exchange being offered. r-tt.com has put their link exchange directory on a subdomain. Yah? So? There’s nothing wrong with that. The only “trick” that I see r-tt.com employing is that their members link from their homepage to r-tt.com’s homepage, rather than back to the directory at directory.r-tt.com.

So, each link exchange member gets a link from a category-page or a subcategory-page on directory.r-tt.com and each member gives a link from their homepage to r-tt.com’s homepage. Nice.

The bottom line is that r-tt.com benefilts greatly in that it does not need to link out to all the link exchange members. Instead, r-tt.com just gives one link to their directory on directory.r-tt.com which, in turn, handles all the external linking.

VERDICT: r-tt.com is innocent.
