What Did Google Look Like in 1998?

Remember Google In 1998?

I was online back then, but I don’t remember Google, heh. I think I was using Metacrawler. :D

Anyways, I found this on Gurucreation.com, a link building seo service, I think. Lately, I’ve come across more and more SEO services that emphasize a link building campaign and their link building skills. I wonder if link building services will soon become more important that plain old SEO services.

They have a list of old sites:

Google - Dec 02, 1998
Yahoo - Oct 17, 1996
Microsoft - Oct 20, 1996
Netscape - Oct 22, 1996
Msn - Oct 25, 1996
Apple - Oct 23, 1996
Youtube - Apr 28, 2005
Facebook - Dec 12, 1998
Adobe - Oct 22, 1996
Wikipedia - Mar 31, 2001
Skyrock - Jan 18, 2001
Dell - June 5, 1997
Blogger - Oct 12, 1999
eBay - Dec 01, 1998
Dailymotion - Apr 07, 2005
Photobucket - Jul 23, 2001
Amazon - Dec 12, 1998
Flickr - Feb 26, 2004
Digg - Nov 11, 1998
Aol - Apr 21, 1997
Wordpress - Aug 22, 2004
Livejournal - Nov 27, 1999
The Pirate Bay - May 19, 2005

The links are all to web.archive.org, but Gurucreations picked some interesting sites.

Interesting and a good example of linkbait cuz I’m going to post their link on my favorite forum also. Just to share with my friends. (yah i got friends, lol)

Another example of linkbait that I saw yesterday is the guardian.co.uk’s list of the 50 Most Powerful Blogs In The World. I think I only heard of two or three of them, but I thought the concept was solid. I might do a list of the 50 Most Powerful SEO Blogs. The point is that people enjoy linking to interesting lists.
